Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm als neuer Vizepräsident berufen | Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm will join the University’s Governing Board as Vice President

Senat und Hochschulrat der Universität Bayreuth haben zwei Vizepräsidentenämter neu besetzt. Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm wird ab dem 1. Oktober 2025 als Vizepräsident für Lehre und Studierende in das Präsidium der Universität Bayreuth einziehen.
Universitätspräsident Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible freut sich auf die Zusammenarbeit. Er sagt: „ Mit Volker Ulm gewinnen wir einen höchst geeigneten Nachfolger von Martin Huber! Volker Ulm ist ein engagierter Didaktiker mit großer Erfahrung auf den Feldern, auf die es im Bereich für Lehre und Studierende ankommt.“
Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm engagiert sich seit Jahren in der Lehrerbildung und der Weiterentwicklung innovativer Lehrformate, ist Direktor des Zentrums für Lehrkräftebildung der UBT sowie Mitglied der Präsidialkommission für Lehrkräftebildung. „Als Vizepräsident für Lehre und Studierende möchte ich den Dialog mit den Studierenden stärken, die Qualität der Lehre weiterentwickeln und die Universität in der digitalen Transformation der Hochschullehre weiter voranbringen“, sagt Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm. Prof. Ulm tritt sein Amt am 1. Oktober 2025 an.

The Senate and University Council of the University of Bayreuth have filled two vice president positions. Effective October 1, 2025, Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm will join the University’s Governing Board as Vice President for Teaching and Learning.
University President Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible expressed enthusiasm about the team: “With Volker Ulm, we are gaining an exceptionally well-suited successor to Martin Huber. Volker Ulm is a committed educationalist with extensive experience in the fields that matter most in the area of teaching and student affairs.”
Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm has long been active in teacher training and the development of innovative teaching formats. He serves as Director of the university’s Center for Teacher Education and is a member of the Presidential Commission for Teacher Education. “As Vice President for Teaching and Learning, I aim to strengthen dialogue with students, enhance teaching quality, and further advance the university’s digital transformation in higher education,” says Prof. Ulm, who will officially begin his term on October 1, 2025.
