First fully English-instruction Bachelor’s Programme at the University of Bayreuth
WS 2025/2026

The new English taught bachelor's programme "Data, Science and AI" will launch in the upcoming winter semester. It is aimed primarily at students from around the world who not only have practical programming skills but also seek to develop a deeper understanding of the mathematical and conceptual foundations of data-driven methods.
Students will learn general methods in mathematics, computer science, and data science, and also discover how to apply these methods in specific fields—such as biology, economics, or environmental sciences. The goal is for students to not only master theoretical knowledge but also work hands-on with data and AI in various domains.
“Data, Science and AI” degree programme is geared towards young people who bring not only technical know-how but also want to understand the theoretical foundations of data-driven technologies—from machine learning to complex data analysis. The programme is taught entirely in English. Admission requires proof of English language proficiency at B2 level or an equivalent qualification.
Detailed information is available on the programme's website. For further questions, please contact the program coordinator.
