Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm will join the University’s Governing Board as Vice President

The Senate and University Council of the University of Bayreuth have filled two vice president positions. Effective October 1, 2025, Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm will join the University’s Governing Board as Vice President for Teaching and Learning.
University President Prof. Dr. Stefan Leible expressed enthusiasm about the team: “With Volker Ulm, we are gaining an exceptionally well-suited successor to Martin Huber. Volker Ulm is a committed educationalist with extensive experience in the fields that matter most in the area of teaching and student affairs.”
Prof. Dr. Volker Ulm has long been active in teacher training and the development of innovative teaching formats. He serves as Director of the university’s Center for Teacher Education and is a member of the Presidential Commission for Teacher Education. “As Vice President for Teaching and Learning, I aim to strengthen dialogue with students, enhance teaching quality, and further advance the university’s digital transformation in higher education,” says Prof. Ulm, who will officially begin his term on October 1, 2025.
